These wonderful shawls come to us from a women's charitable trust in India. The charitable trust employs several hundred women spinners and weavers from rural communities. The women come from the lowest social and economic strata of India;  from highly marginalised communities. This work provides their only source of income (which is fairly paid) along with training, regular work and safe working conditions. The trust provides schooling and health care for the weavers and their families. All are woven in natural fibres - a pure organic Khadi cotton is used in the making of these delightful scarves. Only natural dyes are used. These hand spun and hand woven fabrics are beautiful in their simplicity. The purity of the fibres, the amazing weaving techniques and the subtle colours of a natural dye make this a fabulous and fresh accessory. Each scarf has lovely hand-tied pom poms at each end.
